Build Relationships

Foundational to coaching is a good working relationship with a coach. A Healthy Impact coaches build trust through respect for every client. We understand because we’ve been there and recognize your unique characteristics. Through good communication, we hope you’ll trust us to walk with you on this journey.

Set Goals

Identifying the best goals for you is the best place to start. We know you’re not a computer, and an algorithm just won’t work for you. By reviewing your history with weight management, your lifestyle and the unique challenges you face, we are better able to customize a program making it more likely for you to succeed once and for all! Knowing who you are, we can set SMART Goals together (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound).

Just because we set goals and often achieve them, we have to keep revising them for continuous process improvement! 

Identify Barriers

As part of the process, it’s important to identify barriers for the day, week, month, year or beyond that could get in the way. From there, we can come up with clear ways to break through those barriers to help you achieve your goals.

Retrain The Way You Think

Using the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Coaching, you can retrain your brain to have more healthy behaviors. Rather than unhelpful thoughts getting in the way, we’ll work on how to address the barriers with more helpful, positive self- talk. 

Examples include the use of:

  • Creating new small habits and building off of those
  • Tracking and monitoring food intake for accountability
  • Celebrating the successes!

Addressing Special Topics

Whether you travel between new cities for work, are a stay at home parent, study long hours as a student, work at multiple jobs or live the retired life, we all meet up with unique challenges and obstacles. Our coaches provide customized support, resources and tools to help you manage those barriers and not let them get in the way of your success.

A Healthy Impact is focused on getting you to where you want to be on your weight journey. We’re well versed in the principles of Lifestyle Medicine. Our goal is to support you in learning new skills that you can take with you for the rest of your life that will lead to a lasting, positive and healthy impact!
